Raw food is great. I have this drink about 2 to 3 times a week for lunch. My friend,
Scott Lubbock, suggested that green apples and kale made a great green drink. I took his suggestion, and I’m happy I did.
If you are wondering whether so called “Green Drinks” are actually any good because so many nutritional ideas seem to go in and out of popularity, it is. Kale is one ingredient in many Green Drinks. It is truly a “super food”, not just hype.
Kale has many minerals and vitamins that help all of us. Here is what one website says about kale:
Sometimes, some people cannot eat it because of certain conditions, so because we are all individuals, become aware what works for you. The fiber in Kale is a real cleanser, so you might need to eat it cooked instead of raw, or you might be able to have a Green Drink only 1, or 2 times a week. Believe me that is enough!
After the bloat some people may be feeling because of eating too much food or sweets around the holidays, a Green Drink may be just what you need.
An important thing to know is that apples and Kale are known as “dirty foods”. By this it is understood that they are two foods that unfortunately are treated with many toxic sprays. Thus, it is safest to buy ORGANIC green apples and kale to get all of the benefits both of these foods offer us.
I eat my “Green Apple Green Drink” usually two times a week.
Here is my recipe:
Serves 1 Preparation time 15 minutes
2 cups organic green curly kale leaves, washed and ripped into small pieces
1 cup filtered water
1 organic green apple, well- washed and cut into small cubes
½ to 1 cup of chopped washed carrots
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
1 packet Stevia
1 ½ tablespoons Pumpkin Seed Protein Powder (Omega Nutrition) or equivalent
Extract or grind up or blend the all of these ingredients. This drink can be very thick, so if you need to make it thinner, add water after the green drink is done. You can add ice to make it cooler. If you need it sweeter, add a packet of Stevia; it is sugar and calorie free. To your health!
